Reeled in Almaco Jacks, Hooked a Feisty Yellowfin Tuna, and More on Epic Outer Banks Excursion!

What a day we had out on the water with Christopher Howard! We met up in Wanchese, North Carolina at 8:00 am to kick off our 1/2 day AM 4HR inshore/nearshore fishing adventure with Outcast Fishing Charters OBX LLC. April is a great time to be targeting inshore and nearshore species here, as the warming waters bring some of the best game fish closer to the surface. We started off casting lures and working the structure, quickly hooking into some feisty Almaco Jacks. These fish really put up a fight, making long runs and trying their best to throw the hook. After landing a few, we switched gears and deployed the trolling gear, targeting the open water. Didn't take long before one of the rods doubled over - Christopher was into a nice Yellowfin Tuna! That fish had him working hard, but he played it perfectly and we got it safely in the boat. We kept the variety coming, mixing it up between jigging, baitcasting, and drifting different techniques to cover all the bases. The bite stayed steady all morning, with us picking up a nice mix of species. Christopher was into the action the whole time, showing great angling skills on everything that hit the line. Even as the clouds started moving in during the afternoon, the fishing stayed strong and we ended the day very happy with our haul.
